School Uniform Policy
Students in Grades 1-8 are to wear the approved school uniform purchased from Flynn and O’Hara (www.fando.net or 1-800-441-4122). Pants, shorts, oxford shirts, and sweaters may be purchased from Lands End (all pants and shirts are to be 60/40 cotton/polyester only). All uniforms should be clean, neatly pressed, and marked with the student’s name. Students are expected to present a neat appearance with shirts tucked in and belts at the waist. The principal reserves the right to determine what is appropriate.
“Cold weather” uniforms may be worn throughout the school year while “warm weather” uniforms are restricted to September, part of October, May, and June. The exact dates for wearing the “warm weather” uniform or the “cold weather” uniform are highlighted in the school year calendar.
All students in grades first through eighth are required to wear official uniforms every day, with the exception of "Free Dress Days," when the standard uniform need not be worn. Free Dress Days are announced by the principal. Dress on these days must be appropriate for the learning environment of St. Peter’s. Athletic shoes must be worn if a scheduled P.E. day falls on a scheduled Free Dress Day.
Student appearance must always be conducive to the learning environment of St. Peter’s School. At no time may a student’s appearance be a distraction (to include unusual hair color). Jewelry must not be a safety issue during P.E. class. The principal has final discretion in the matters relating to the student’s appearance.
Skirt length may be no more than two inches above the knee. This regulation will be strictly enforced.
Students who are members of Scout troops may wear their Scout uniforms on days when their meetings are scheduled.
GIRLS – GRADES 1-5
- Uniform plaid jumper
- Optional – navy blue slacks worn with a black leather belt
- White Peter Pan collar broadcloth blouse (long or short sleeve)
- Plain white or navy blue crew or knee socks, or navy blue tights
- Solid, dark leather, low top, soft-soled, closed back shoes. Athletic shoes are not appropriate.
- Sweater: red cardigan
GIRLS – GRADES 6-8
- Uniform plaid skirt
- Optional – navy blue slacks worn with a black leather belt
- White oxford cloth shirt (long or short sleeve)
- Plain white or navy blue crew or knee socks, or navy blue tights
- Solid, dark leather, low top, soft-soled, closed back shoes. Athletic shoes are not appropriate.
- Sweater: navy blue crewneck
BOYS – GRADES 1-5
- Navy blue slacks worn with a black leather belt
- White oxford cloth shirt (long or short sleeve)
- Plain white or navy blue crew socks
- Solid, dark leather, low top, soft-soled, closed back shoes. Athletic shoes are not appropriate.
- Sweater: red crewneck
BOYS – GRADES 6-8
- Navy blue slacks worn with a black leather belt
- White oxford cloth shirt worn with the school tie
- Plain white or navy blue crew socks
- Solid, dark leather, low top, soft-soled, closed back shoes. Athletic shoes are not appropriate.
- Sweater: navy blue crewneck
WARM WEATHER UNIFORM – During early fall and late spring, an optional warm weather uniform may be worn. See the school calendar for warm weather uniform dates.
BOY & GIRLS GRADES 1-8 WARM WEATHER UNIFORM
- Navy blue walking shorts
- White Polo Shirt with St. Peter’s Logo
- Optional for Girls - White Peter Pan collar blouse (short sleeve)
- Plain white crew socks
- Solid dark leather, low top, soft-soled, closed back shoes. Athletic shoes are not appropriate.

PHYS. ED. UNIFORM – Physical Education uniforms are to be worn only on days when students are scheduled to participate in Physical Education class.
