Welcome, and thank you for your interest in St. Peter's Interparish School. We have a new principal Ms. Jennifer Ketchum and look forward to a new school year.Jennifer Ketchum

From Pre-K to Eighth Grade, students, parents, and teachers here at St. Peter's share in a supportive community within the neighborhood of Capitol Hill.  Serving four urban parishes as one of the oldest continuously operating Catholic elementary schools in Washington, D.C., St. Peter's Interparish School draws the majority of its small 225-member student body from these parishes, while also accepting other Catholic and non-Catholics desiring a values-based learning environment.

Accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools, and the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., St. Peter's Interparish School strives to instill in each student an educational foundation for lifelong growth in knowledge, wisdom and spiritual maturity.  Our instructional philosophy reaches out to all students at their current levels of development and to their diverse backgrounds so that each child develops to his and her maximum potential.  Resource teachers in reading and mathematics provide consultation and support.

Religious education supports the foundation of a learning environment based on a faith that becomes living, conscious, and active through instruction and participation in prayer and worship.  We practice the three goals of Catholic education as stated by the National Council of Bishops, To Teach as Jesus Did — to spread the message of the Church, to build community, and to be of service.

On standardized achievement tests, students at St. Peter's have continually performed at or above the national average, as well as at or above the average for Washington, D.C. parochial schools.  Graduates of St. Peter's have set a tradition of acceptance to the high school of their choice.

In addition to the core curriculum, St. Peter's Interparish School offers art, computer, music, physical education, and Spanish language classes.  Our school library's extensive collection of children's literature is known for its exceptional quality, with school wide reading programs underway several times throughout the year.
